Friedman SB 50 - Small Box Big Sound
Today i use my cryo tuned Gibson SG together with the Friedman SB 50. The SG sounds after the treatment much better than before. Its more open and playable then before. The Friedman SB50 will do the rest. No further words needed, watch the vid.

OK lets see I'm going to buy a one sound Fender tube amp to front end transistor distortion. That was fine when I could buy black panels for $150 and silvers for $75, but ultimately I don't like pedals, and without pedals the Bassman is not that great of an amp to me. In fact, out of all of the Fender's I've had ('66 Super Reverb, countless Bassman, a 90-something Vibroverb RI, and a 69 Bandmaster Reverb) my '69 Bandmaster Reverb was the best, but only for clean tones. For me I like just the guitar, amp, and volume and tone controls. No pedal color needed.

I just got a wildwood edition. Amazing amp, very smooth, loads of mids, both having the vintage and modern tones in one box is amazing. But mine doesnt have thumb. Does that make a lot of change?

@@Biblrocks The wildwood edition has the presence knob on the back instead of the standard SB 50 version. But on my amp there is no thumb knob on the back of the amp as the new standard SB. I wondered if it makes difference a lot or can be compensated with other ways?

I was talking with Dave a few years back about building me a "twin" Dirty Shirley (ala twin sis but DS) but then the fire happened, I couldnt wait so I went with Bad Cat Hot Cat. For me the thing with Friedmans is they need to be turned up to sound proper. SG sounds great! Im putting mine in the fridge tonight.

This brings to mind the suggestion that Thomas houses the Amp1 in the typical amp head. This also tells us how guitarists get inspired by the familiar. The Amp1 is a full-blown *amp*. And I can foretell it will sound excellent to your touch, through your rig. What you tweak out of it will be something worth beholding. It takes the Tube Zone very well too.

Some of my acquaintances who signed expensive recording contracts in the early 90's all went out and purchased this generation of reissues (no Effect Loop) the most striking of them all was the JTM 45 with a tall vintage cab, all in white Tolex. Sounded great at the shows and with a Marshall back line quite impressive. Yours is no exception great presentation.

I've never seen one that said "EXPORT AMP" on it - interesting! I have a late 1967 blackface with the drip edge - which is usually only found on silverface, so this must be a transition model. Mine has a master volume installed on the back, so it can be used at lower volumes. The bass channel is modified to have more mids like a Marshall or tweed, the normal channel is stock. I had always wanted a bassman head........cheers!
